I've also suggested the possibility of using a VDA format as opposed to STL. This is something I've brought up many times in the past, while its is all workable between the job setup, calculation recognition and stock simulation the work flow is clumsy to say the least but manageable. While you can reference an STL file as stock with in subsequent surfacing operations there is still no way of actually defining the STL as a stock body within the Job Setup. That's true Marco but there are still serious limitations when the detail/data set is too large.too many facets.
You can directly use that STL model as Solid stock body. You have figured out to get the right import you haven’t need to create a Solid of it with Mesh Enabler.
